Great Bachelorette Party Tips!
WHAT AN HONOR! THE BRIDE ASKED YOU
TO GIVE THE BACHELORETTE PARTY!
...NOW PANIC SETS IN…
WHERE DO I START? WHO ARE THE GUESTS?
CAN I DO THIS? WHAT HAVE I FORGOTTEN?
LET’S START AT THE BEGINNING.
Check with the bride-to-be what date works best for her. She will have a busy schedule so ask for several alternative dates as well. Book the party well in advance of the wedding. Just imagine if the bachelorette party was the night before the big ceremony!
Now comes the bride’s guest list. Help her create a list of women she would like to have at her bachelorette party. If she overlooks anyone, add your suggestions. Do not hesitate to invite out-of-towners and don’t worry unnecessarily about planning around them either.
In today’s modern lifestyle, invitations by mail, email or both are acceptable. However, check with the bride for her preference. The invitations should include time, place, directions, and dress. Your guests should be aware this bachelorette party will be playfully risqué! Slightly blushing or real naughty is up to you and the bride. Do not have a stripper unless you receive the bride’s permission. No exceptions!
Weigh the pros and cons of an indoor, outdoor, personal home or private restaurant party. Privacy may be an issue with restaurants, drinking and driving could be a top priority, and keep in mind, your total party expense. Whether the party is themed or not, the most important issue is everyone having a great time!
Do everything in advance, so you can enjoy the fabulous bachelorette party yourself. Friends are more than happy to help in one way or another. Friends may want to treat the bachelorette to their family’s recipes for brunch, afternoon buffet, cocktail party or even a dessert party. Have a catered party if this better suits your style. Rent limousines if the party is bar hopping.
You are the Organizational Queen regardless of where the party is held. Plan your work…Work your plan!
You have arranged it all. The food, drink, decorations, games, party favors, and instamatic cameras are all in place. In addition, have special little goodie bags for every guest as a remembrance, not that she will need one! And best of all, you too have time to party!
Now with the bride’s scrapbook completed, thank you notes sent, pictures up in emails, and any other loose end tied up, pat yourself on the back. Congratulations, you did great!
